It’s all about the food! I’ve learned that bcs I’m Canadian-Chinese, and my hubby is Canadian (European background). He couldn’t believe how important food was in our culture, until he came over for supper at my parents’ house and we couldn’t finish all the food that was prepared! It was like a Chinese All-You-Can-Eat Buffet… but better! There was fried chicken!

Now we can share our love of food with our friends. These are some of our favourite restaurant “gems” — fab food at amazingly affordable prices, and some healthy, home-style cookin’ too!

    Enjoy! Mar.

I never really thought organic food would make much difference until I started working at an organic produce place. Sure, I’ve always grown much of my stuff organically but I was finally convinced when I had my first head of Chinese (napa) cabbage. It was SO SWEET! I could go on and on about organic produce now. And if you’re not a Brussel sprout fan. Try cutting them in halves, sauté it with some garlic and drizzle them with some maple syrup. Even Daniel who wasn’t a fan was convinced by that. Of course, organic Brussel sprouts help too. It was sweeter.

Other produce that you would notice a big differences include: apples, avocado, beets, potatoes, garlic, ginger, winter squash, asparagus, banana.

Anything drizzled with maple syrup is good! I heard port is good drizzled with maple syrup… LOL.

Hmmm… I think I’m going to search for recipes that use port with everything! LOL
