Nuts and Bolts

This is a savoury mix of nuts and cereal. I give this out in little bags at Christmas time. My nephew and niece have nut allergies, so you can make it without the nuts, just use extra pretzels or cereal. Marlene


2 cup rice Chex cereal
1 cup cheerios cereal
1 cup Ritz Cheese Nips
1 cup nuts (peanuts, brazil nuts, almonds, or a mix)
1 cup pretzels
1/2 cup butter
2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon celery salt
1 teaspoon onion salt

Preheat oven to 300 F. Melt butter. Add Worcestershire sauce and garlic powder and salts. Mix well. Combine all the dry cereals and nuts in a large bowl. Drizzle the margarine mixture over the cereal mixture, stirring to coat evenly. Spread it all on a large cookie sheet. Bake about 25 minutes, stirring three or four times. Cool and store in an airtight container.

If this is too spicy, just add another cup of something. I like to include things like sesame sticks or rice crackers. My family likes extra nuts. Just keep the total cups of ingredients constant, and you can try something different every time.
