Sift together in a bowl:
- 1/4 cup cocoa
- 2 cups cake flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 tspp baking soda
- pinch of salt
Add:
- 1 cup salad dressing
- 3/4 cup cold water
- 1 tsp vanilla
Beat with wooden spoon or beater. Line 8″ or 9″ cake pan with parchment paper.
Bake at 350˚ til toothpick comes out clean.

Add 1 cup of salad dressing?!! What? Is this a typo? Or do I not understand what kinda salad dressing we’re talking about here…

oops, i’ve tossed the notes now. i’m guessing it was supposed to be vegetable oil???
